about

Individual instruments encroach upon one another’s territories. Means of sound generation tumble and swirl, losing their identities. The Theremin morphs into a voice, the sax’s multi-phonics buzz like the oscillators of the Theremin, the voice sidles into the mix with wavering tones, crackling, creaking and whistling. Only free improvisation allows for this mutation and merging.

There are no presets for the interactions while listening to one another, reacting in split-seconds that have the feeling of the now and here realizing itself spontaneously. What remains is but one sound, created by the voices of the three musicians.

Note: there are several editions of this album! Take your pick between stereo and binaural (for headphones). For more options visit blumlein records.
