about

"Tryptichon" marks the beginning of a sequence of releases featuring the collaboration with Michael von Hintzenstern, culminating in the founding of our duo LufftStrom.

Michael plays the mechanical Liszt organ as well as the "Winddrossel", a device allowing global air pressure control to the pipe organ.
Andrew plays the STEIM Cracklebox, Landscape Audio Stereo Field and Haken Audio Continuum Fingerboard.

The story of this release…

I had contacted Michael after researching potential musical partners in the free improvising pipe organ scene. These were the first three experiments we conducted at Dorfkirche Denstedt near Weimar, home of the mechanical organ Franz Liszt himself experimented with. What better place than where Liszt conducted his "Orgelconferenzen" to explore new sonic territory :-)
